MUNICH the real life incident
Mood: Neutral
Music: Bu Pa Bu Pa by Jocie Kwok
Its been 40 plus years since the Munich Olympics massacre by the Black September group. The issue was reopened by the movie about it. I have just watch a documentry about the aftermath of the massacre. I believe those who kill must be killed. Live by terrorism die by terrorism. No one has any reason to feel sorry for the Black September members because they chose their path the moment they killed the Israeli athletes during the international event to symbolise peace. One country's freedom fighter, another's terrorist is a common saying to justify terrorism. Is it really true? Are terrorist really fighting to free their people or are they really just finding a excuse to commit violence? Usually these freedom fighters become the very evil they say they are fighting. Is being killed by a person of a different religion/race/skin colour worse than being killed by someone like you?
The human mind is too complex to give an accurate answer to all the questions. Osama is a great person for his courage to challenge the USA but his means of achieving 'freedom' for the Muslim world are doubtful. Does killing people who are different help your people? The answer is no. The Americans learnt it the hard way in the mid-1900s. Racism and Religionism are plain stupid because everyone is different and everyone is free to do what they like. This freedom must have some bounds of course. Laws exist for that reason. Why should a person's religion or race make him a demon/devil? Thats why Osama must be caught and punished in front of the world for his stupidity. Killing non-Muslims will just result in more violence against Muslims. The number of Muslim haters increases everyday not because they are xenophobes or rednecks but because of all the things these fundmentalist Muslims do 'in the name of Islam'.
I believe Islam is more like Christianty and Judaism than any other religion. Yet, Islam's supposed opponents are the above 2 religion. Funny isnt it? Well, I've said my piece. In summary, if you want to stop terrorism, then stop terrorising each other. Terrorists are born from terrorism, the chicken and the egg scenerio.
Cheers

UPDATES IN MY LIFE.
Mood: Irritated
Music: Das kleine Krokodil by Schnappi
Well, I am gonna ORD in 2 weeks time so thats a good thing. 14th March 2006, a date I have been looking forward to since long long time ago on an Island called Tekong. All has been well, I still have to clear most of the crap that comes with ORD.
First thing I wanna update relates to soccer. The first leg of Champions League soccer has been a disappointment for me. 2 of my fav teams lost and another won. Okay, fine, Chelsea played Barcelona so one would win and the other lose. I am still unhappy that Asier Del Horno was sent off. Not so much whether he deserved it because he did, but the standard of professionalism underlying his foul. It reeked of a cynical, amateurish and stupid foul. The intention was to injure the opponent not get the ball. Chelsea were lucky to have a goal going into the second leg because the own goal by Thiago Motta was very unlucky though Barcelona never had a good goalkeeper anyway. Cech was outclassed by Ronaldinho and Eto'o. 2-1 was the final score. Mourinho livid and I feel that Chelsea were outclassed. Juventus of course lost to Werder Bremen away from Stadio Del Alphi so its not so bad. They came away from the game with 2 precious away goals and trail by 1 goal only. GO JUVE! INNO JUVE!!!!!
Secondly, I juz had a toe operation. My third in 2 years and no its not funny. The first 2 were a lot less pain than this one. I have never felt this much pain in my toe in a long time. My only worry is the blod clot bursting and more blood bleeds out. I am not scared of blood but bleeding half a day after the operation is not a good idea. Infection and shock are not fun things to experience.

To all those using/abusing my tagboard, please try not to flood it with negative comments about the Kismis-Falcon match. Take time to read my blog then comments on the latest few entries. The match and the post-match rivalry is getting stale.

For all those CJCians, who like me had a boring JC stint there.
http://waffle.wordpress.com/2006/02/11/apollo-24-of-cjc
Proof that CJCians can have fun and not be called immoral. I recommend this for people thinking of applying for JC, ex-CJCians and people with a sense of humour. Those uptight ex-elite JC/ current elite JC people please do not add to the sad drivel on the comments board.
I know CJC is famous for a lot of bad things but it has improved tremendously. I would not have done as well for my A level if not for being in CJC. The enviroment is conducive for study and play. It is easier to switch from CCA, ECA or plain slacking to serious study at CJC then other schools. Being for NJC for 3 months, I would say NJC is a better place to study but the stress level is there. I felt CJC gave me the freedom to do what I wanted to do yet still I could study in school without too much distraction.

Soccer, Supporting and Favourite Teams
Mood: In ze Zone Man!
Music: Nobody's Home by Avril Lavinge and many more
For those wondering why I changed to a Chelsea skin and why I chose to support such a club with no history, buoyed only by big bucks and has a arrogant manager. The truth is I used to like Man Utd but found that they were getting lousy after Schimechel, Cantona and Cole left. Supported Middlesborough when Ravenelli was there. Then was not really supporting any team till The Abramovich era.
Chelsea has the most potential to achieve the quintruple: FA CUP, CARLING CUP, PREMIER LEAGUE, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CUP AND WORLD CLUB CUP. All 5 are not easy to win but theoractically it is possible though Chelsea now cannot do it.
Anyway, the S.Ian part of every post is derived from Michael Essien's name. S Ian and Essien. HAHA!

The reason I changed my blog was because it has the Jap name of demon Princess or something of that kind. Well.... not masculine enough for me. Thank you Clarence for highlighting it.
No Juventus or Barcelona blogskins so I settled for a Chelsea one. I do support Chelsea but not as fervently as Juve.
I miss doing the simple stuff like going to a friend's place and chillin or going to Hazwani to have a murtabak. Too caught up with military pursuits and stuff.
To blog again or not to blog again that is the question but not the answer.

Life..... What is life? Is it the absence of death? Is it the presence of the spirit? The saying get a life means go away but it implies that if you get a life you will be too busy to disturb others. Living in Singapore means studying hard, doing national service and having kids. If you fail to doing any of the three, you are considered unusual. Funny how all three take your freedom to choose your life away.
Study hard and forget about really doing stuff you really wanted to do. Fun and studies dun mix in Singapore. Passion and studies do but i dun want to have fun in a chemical engineering lab and see mutants created. It might be funny but not very fun.
NS is not funny nor fun. Unless you are lucky enough to have a good set of superiors or a 8 to 5 job at some HQ. Cock-ups are your fault, you are needed only when on leave and you can go to hell for all anyone cares. Not very fun.
Kids are fun to have until you realise that they have to study. They hate studying because where is the fun and happiness. Thrashing your fellow students can be fun but you wont be very popular among your average classmates unless you really try to help them. Comparing your kids with others is not fun for them. They are different from other kids. Sometimes, a kid's talent is never found out. Countless generations have passed and our best player is Fandi Ahmad? Even Chile and Paraguay have produced more great players in a generation than us in our short history.
Well, will blog again.

Hi all,
was reading the famous xiaxue's blog and found an interesting/fresh post. The part that struck me is the part on men cheating on their gfs/ wives etc... I find it quite funny that some famous men would cheat on their partners and get caught with their pants literally down by the media.
Free press has always been a double-edged sword. Good at entertaining us with good stories mainly about celebs. Their bad part is not anything to do with the primary component of journalism. It is more to do with economics and competition. Every journalist is after the big one and that means harming others in the process. Some clowns think it is journalism to take a photo of Brooklyn Beckham doing something dumb or some famous bloke with his pants down.
Anyway, journalism is too commercialised to be completely trustworthy of the public. I advice all stories about the famous blokes be taken with a pinch of salt.

I feel crushed. Crushed by the feeling that something will go wrong. Crushed by the nonsense once considered acceptable in my life. Crushed by the loss of purpose in my life.
The stress of ORD and the impending entry into Uni has began to gnaw on my icy exterior. I feel like a normal guy preparing to enter Uni. Nervous etc.... Feeling a bit under the weather recently due to I guess my flu etc...
Well blog again!

Cable-Skiing, Zodiac and End of the chapter
Mood: Swinging! :)
Music: Xiao Wei by Huang Pin Yuan
Thursday, I went Cable Skiing. I was like Wakeboarding on a budget. No boat, no coach, juz a cable and a wakeboard. You need to be very good or very lucky to take off. Even Selene, the experienced wakeboarder had trouble lifting off the start point. Being there to enjoy myself, I went for the easier but more fun option. A modified surfboard which was more forgiving to cable ski on.
The experience was good in general, though I was very thirsty after the session. Joy, Selene's friend manager something Selene and myself could not do, go a full circle on the course, on the modified surfboard, of course . I failed because I was too tense so overcorrected when cable skiing resulting in a fall into the drink. Selene of course went there to wakeboard, so thats what she did. Well, she failed to take-off and the queue was too long for her to have that many chances to try.
In my previous post, I wrote that I wanted to watch Zodiac: The Race Begins. Well, I finally watched it at Jurong. Well, I would be lying to say I was great but I was good. Good for a local production on a budget and with a team of green horn animators. At times, I was impressive and equal to a Pixar film, but at times, it was no better than a Primary School puppet play done in a few days.
I would say, you should watch it to support Singapore's efforts to be a creative hub. Leave you skeptic brain outside and let the kid inside through.
The final point relates to the end of a chapter in my life. After reading through some of my close friends' blogs and Yixin's blog, I reflected on the times I had with them ever since the day I landed in Singapore on 25th November 2005. From 12th Feb onwards, 2 of my close frens will no longer be a phone call away. Chris and Sel have gone to Australia to further their studies and wont be back for 9 months. Juz like how Yixin is feeling with the impending departure of Huifang for her exchange programme, i feel like a part of me has flow to Aussie with them. Its like Ex. Wallaby all over again, only part of me is in Aussie while I am physically in Singapore instead of the other way round.
Play time is over in more than 1 way. The time to play around, chill and spend time with frens is coming to a close. The time to be serious and think about the future has come. As I will be 'retrenched' from the army in a few weeks time, I will have to find a means to gain income. (ANYONE HAVE LOBANG??????!?!?!).
University is less than half a year away, so time for me to relearn how to be a student and a educated person. No more Hokkien idioms, no more chat language, no more 3SG before my name and finally no more waiting for things to happen.
The biggest change will be the stress of success. No more will anyone push me in the direction to go! I will need to motivate myself to do well as Uni is more competitive than JC on a per test basis. I find it dumb but I guess it is necessary.
Hope to blog somemore!

FRIENDSHIP, CNY & SOCCER
Mood: Normal
Music: Chu Le Ai Ni You Neng Ai Shui? by Dong Li Huo Che
The festive season has come! With it came my 21st B'dae which was at best lousy due to military commitments. Anyway, my CNY started with a trip back to camp to settle my army crap on the 3oth night (Nian San Shi Ye). Then went late for my soccer match between my army guys and Kismis Utd. Needless to say, Kismis were beaten. I expected it, because the quality players in Kismis love to play with kites. In other words, they 'fly kite'.
From the post match report by Chris, Kismis was playing well for 1 half as they used the best of the players available to them. Part of the line-up included Muhamad Aly and Calvin who were excellent players.Calvin looked like Sze Khing which caused him to be called a ****er by Shawn by accident in jest. I also mistook him for the Khing. Must have been quite an experience!
After that, went with Sel and Chris for lunch at Lido. We had KFC and I saw a JC schoolmate, Christie. The rest of day, me and Chris followed Sel to shop for things she didnt buy but reserved.
Reached home by 5 juz in time to bathe, change and get into the car to go my Uncle's place. There, I watched soccer between Newcastle and Cheltenham. Generally, the new year's eve party was a bit boring.
The first day of CNY was not much better as I had to wake up early to go visiting which was fine. The thing I didnt really like was the long periods waiting for things to happen. A feeling and habit fostered from my army stint. Had a good time at my Uncle's place.
The second day was much more fruitful. I woke up later and was on the com chatting with my pals. My cousins came later as did my imp of a nephew. Had loads of fun with the little imp. Despite being 2 years old, he still refuses to communicate in a known human language. That makes for some surreal incidents with him. Chris, Selene, jon Dave and Aaron came over to 'spread the festive joy'. They left to go eat at Jon's place and I had a great dinner with my family. Nat, my impish nephew, of course was the centre of attraction for the day.
The third day of CNY was the best despite the fact that I had to book into camp for reasons not known to me. Anyway, the day started with me wanting to go watch Zodiac: the Race Begins at Orcahrd Cineleisure. When I got there, surprise, surprise, all sold out. Decided to call Chris and Selene to bring forward the meeting time from 4pm at Bugis to an earlier time. All I got was a 'Selene is going Great World City to shop and I am going to visit Andre' from Chris. Since Great World was nearby, I decided I would explore the CBD area and see if I could find the place on foot without a map.
Due to the predictability of Singapore, I found the place in less than half an hour. Explored the area for 1 hour plus b4 I met up with Sel. While she shopped at Zara, I was wondering around and confirming plans for dinner. Then came a message from Yixin saying she would only be able to meet us at 5 pm at Bugis. That suited me fine because Sel was shopping happily and I needed time to meet Chris b4 meeting her.
After Great World, we went to Bugis via MRT. Went to Coffee Bean and had a expensive coffee 'which I could make myself for 2 bucks'. Yixin arrived b4 five and Chris came at 1730hrs. Coming with Chris was Jon Dave which was a surprise as I expected him to be chasing some girl. We then decided to visit Bugis market which was closed.
I came up with a stupid (I thought) suggestion that we should juz get our food from Cold Storage. Chris modified my suggestion and we decided to go to Sky garden to have dinner. B4 we could go to Suntec, we had to wait for Yixin's best friend, Huifang. We met up with her in Cold Storage while looking for drinks.
She was as Yixin described her to be, Sunshine girl, funny and outgoing. She was also quite cute. Of course, her mum had cooked dinner for her so she couldnt join us. We then took the MRT to Suntec and went to Carrefour to raid their sushi and roasted meats.
Sky Garden was very beautiful and quiet so we could eat and enjoy the scenery. Yixin and Jon hit off quite well while Sel and Chris were doing their funny couple rituals. I was just happy to be with friends on the 3rd day of CNY. I dunno when will I ever have to do so little to be so happy?
The night ended with me sending Yixin back by MRT. Due to the time, I could not send her to her hostel but at least I got to know her better.
Unfortunately, things were not so good for Jon, Chris and Sel. Sel ticked Jon off for being a lamp post and Jon took offense. The rest is not known to me. Some how Jon has become very unhappy. I'm not blaming Jon or Sel because I dunno the facts and I doesnt involve me.
