It seems that my thoughts about Mourinho's sanity and knowledge of the game has been proven the the last 3 games. Not only has his acquistions failed to perform, but Man U with all its problems is crushing all comers with ease. The purchease of 2 aging captains, 1 relative unknown and a young kid doesnt represent good buys. Compare his purcheases with say liverpool: Fabio Aurelio, Mark Gonzalez, Jermaine Pennant, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt. Good players currently and still have some to give.

Mourinho needs a left back and he failed to get one for 2 months. He could have bought Fabio A who is not that bad. Instead, he chose to sell Del Horno and try and get Ash Cole. The situation now is that Chelsea still have no extra left back though Khalid can play left back. Gallas the immature is left in the cold with Cole.

The sadness of the situation is that Man U is cruising though the league and Arsenal/Chelsea are bickering over defenders. Who needs Roy Keane? Man U are playing tons better than Chelsea who have not 1 but 3 holding midfielders.

This goes to show that he who buys last buys best. Shame on you Mourinho!!!!!

How often do we think back on the times when we had fun and wished that they would return or never ended?

I would be a liar to say I didnt think those thoughts this week. Nevertheless, I realised that all good things will come to an end. Just like all bad things.

Many people in the world wonder whether the current conflicts in the Middle East, between the Western powers and the Islamic fundamentalists or in the Pacific will ever end. The answer is yes. Sooner or later, something will push all parties to resolution. During the Japanese Occupation, many believed that Syonan-to was here to stay. We know it lasted 3 years and 8 months. About how long the average NUS student takes to get his/her degree with honours.

The irony of this conparison is that studying can be as painful as living in Syonan-to. Ask your grandparents or parents if you dun think so. Subsisting on meagre rations while finding a way to avoid the common pitfalls.

It sometimes is tempting to curry favour with the Profs like the way the inhabitants of Syonan did with the Japanese.

Therefore, if you think Uni life sucks, look no further than the example of Syonan for inspiration!!

AND SO IT BEGINS!!!!

Mood: Happy
Music: Christmas by Maria Carey

University has began. The games have been played and the fun has been had. Now down to fighting for survival in the graded world that is NUS.

I miss O Week and CPF but the past must be forgotten for the future to exist.

Let the games begin!!!!!

And so it begins......
And so it shall end.....

Its been a week since I started my Engin Orientation Week.

I've been through the highs and lows of the programme. The pain of failure, the joy of success and the elation of team spirit. In many ways, this O week is the dawn of a new era. The era in which sacrifice is the core of my life. Freedom, happiness and personal stuff must be sacrificed in the name of my future.

Anyway, O week was fun. It was good for me. Finally a chance to adapt to a dual gender enviroment of social opportunities. A place to make friends, gain contacts and learn from my seniors. A place where I mould my future and have fun.

O week gave me a chance to let my hair down, to go crazy and to understand my current status. Those who know me very well should understand why I said the last sentence.

I cheered till I lost my voice, I sang till I went off-key and a played till my body ached. I still felt happy despite the lack of sleep, bizaare games and stupid compulsory programmes. In many ways, O week is a SDU-like activity minus the desperation to find someone special. During O week, I made many friends and had opportunties I had not had since JC. Still, I feel in life, opportunities come and go. Its just when you need to seize the opportunity that matters.

A life partner or a steady gf is fun but it gets in your way of studies, of pursuing your life in University an of understanding more about life. A first class honours is a excellent thing to get within 3 years+ but what have you learnt? The degree gets you something but doesnt give everything. Its what you learn outside the lecture theatres and tutorial rooms that really make the difference. Anyone can study but can just anyone hold a job for 30-40 years in the same company raise through the ranks and work under your own steam? The answer is no. The knowledge on the streets will prepare us for the more mundane but more frequently met problems.

I thank my OG Hydro for being there for me during O week. Special Thanks goes to my GC, Chien Wei and his very able ACs: Zhi Yi, Wei Xian, Huimin, Chen Xin and most importantly, Edward. Without them, there would be no Hydro.

If any of my OG mates ever stumble across this blog of mine. I only have to say Thanks!

LAST DAY IN CPF

Mood: Nostalgic
Music: *silence*

Its been 3 months since i went to the 10thfloor of Standard Charterd Building to collect my timesheets and recieved my briefing on my next assignment at CPF.

Since Tanjong Pagar was nearby, I got there in a few minutes and went up to the 37th floor to find the HR for my posting. I was posted to RSD on the 14th floor or so I thought. The person I was suppose to find was on the 25th floor.

The rest is history.....

Time flies when your having fun or really busy. 3 Months have passed since the day i blurrly walked into 25-05 looking for a Mrs Jen Tan. I am more prosperous in all sense of the word, happier and more experienced.

There is a saying that when you start something, you will learn things no matter what you do. I learnt a lot of things in CPF. Too many to mention and some too personal to say.

I have met many people throughout the course of 3 months. Made friends, quarrelled, made up and helped each other. Forgive me if I didnt mention your name. I cant remember all my CPF friends. Like walking in a crowd, there will be always people you walk past, people you talk to and people to get to know very well.

Lets start from the top.

Mrs Chan our AD: I would like to thank her for approve the request to hire temps. Without that, I would be still jobless. :)

Heidi, 1 of our 2 SEs: Thanks for being so patient with us, even when you had good reason to be pissed!

Mei Ping, our other SE: Thanks for helping us trough out the 3 months! We may not have shown our appreciation but deep down inside we are appreciative.

Matthew, one of our Direct superiors: Thanks for coaching us and helping us through out our stay in CPF!

Dylan, another of our Superiors: Thanks for all the help you gave us and the nasi lemak to spur us on!

Shanee, the last of our superiors: Thanks for being the link between us and the rest of the permanent staff.

Wei Ting, the contract turned perm: Thanks for being a friend!!!! All the best working at CPF!!!!

The Counter Team: Thanks for everything!!!!!
