REACTIONS

After reading the match reports of the Chelsea - Liverpool match in the Straits Times and Today newspaper, I am shocked the Mourinho thought he could win. Being a Chelsea fan, I saw The Special One try to win a match against one of the league top three by treating like a mid-table mediocre team. We seen it happend before. Middlesborough and Fulham treated Chelsea to losses and they were mid-table.

Liverpool was beaten twic by Chelsea in the league by margins of two goals or more. That might have caused Jose to think Pool was easy meat. Jose played a packed centre midfield without considering the wings. No first team winger played and they played with a 4-4-2 formation which was not their normal style. No wingers, unfamiliar formation, injured first choice keeper and playing players who normally dun figure in the first team. All danger signs which Mourinho failed to catch. Benitez saw them and took advantage. Thus Chelsea lost. Liverpool did well to beat Chelsea. yes, their striker didnt score but Crouch and Cisse are not Robbie Fowler. They did their job and Liverpool won 2-1.

What could have been changed from the starting line-up of Chelsea? First of all, Crespo should have stayed in London. Partnering him with Drogba wasted a space for someone with more contribution. Lets start from the back and move to the attack. First, given that Cech was half injured, Chelsea should have alloted more defensive cover, which they did sufficiently with Gallas, Ferriera, Terry and Del Horno. Midfield: Geremi should have been benched in favour of Joe Cole or Damien Duff. Make, Lampard and Essien would have been perfect in the centre. With Drogba playing lone, Mourinho could play a wider midfield with two out of the three wingers playing. For all my criticism of Didier Drogba, he is perhaps the better of the few strikers in Chelsea. He can score but yet he can screw up as skillfully. Mourinho started the game with two wrong players and a formation more suited for Highbury or a street soccer court. Narrow formation indicating a narrow mind.

Once more the Special One has shown that he has failed his familarisation testof the English game. Yes, the better team lost. They lost because they underestimated the opposition. The price is the FA Cup. Lets hope Mourinho can learnt the English game and with his knowledge rebuild Chelsea into a world beater. Till then, he needs to conserve his seemingly endless resources so that when the right player comes, he can bid for that player with no prob.

A list of players who should leave Chelsea: Carlton Cole, Didier Drogba, Hernan Jorge Crespo, Arjen Robben, Geremi and William Gallas. No Maniche too

Wishlist: Andy Johnson, Ashley Cole, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Mario Melchiot

LIFE, AUSSIE AND EPL

Mood: Happish
Music: Fan motor

Long time no blog, I thought i forgot I have a blog.

Life hath dealt me a harsh blow by rendering me unemployed again! HAHA! Its actually okay, because I needed some time to spend with my parents, friends and books. The past few weeks after ORD have been education beyond doubt. I learnt stuff that I would not learn in books or in school.

Hmmm.... Melbourne, leaving, holiday. I might be stopping by Melbourne soon to visit my friends and experience Australian life in a different way. Accomodation etc.... is not confirmed but I will be definitely enjoying myself there.

EPL

As the season draws to a close in May, many champions/ favourites are desparately trying to cling on to the trophies and league titles. Juventus seems uninterested, Barce is on a roll, Lyon and Bayern are dominant.

Now, Chelsea. The Russian-powered machine. A team which can be so brilliant, no one can beat them and yet when faced with important or sure win matches they struggle. They just lost to Liverpool in the FA Cup, which is not really surprise because for all the great tactics they have, they lack, one thing: understanding. They dun understand their opponents, the game, each other and the fans. Mourinho's style of play is best left on Mainland Europe. Drogba and Crespo should rethink why are they so ineffectual. Fine, Dogba scored against liverpool after how many Crouch-like misses. This guy should be nicknamed: African Player most like Peter Crouch along with Most overrated African of the Year. I dun really think 24 million should be spent on a diving, spoilt, divisive and misfiring player. He has all the bad attributes of Crissy Ronaldo and Rude Van Listless. Cheater, diver, camper and loves complaining. If he could have Cristiano's ball control or Ruud's predatory instincts, he might be worth 12 million. He doesnt.

Crespo, on the other hand, is bred to play Italian football. His style is ineffectual against English defenders. Paul Ince can attest for how hard Serie A is.

Man Utd are another team who punters dislike. They have a fantastic run then crash against Sunderland. The same team that squandered a 1-0 lead to lose 4-1 in 45 mins. Makes me wonder why English teams have so much trouble winning the Champions League. Fergie cant do things he could in the past now that AIG is boss. American Idiot Glazer also the sponsors for Man Utd's new shirt deal. 56+ million pounds to wear a jersey that looks like a Division 3 jersey. I guess money is more important than the fans. Lets see what Fergie's legacy will be. The man who created world-class teams or a sell-out has-been? Only time will tell. Ironically AIG didnt do itself any favours getting Park and Rooney to unveil the new Jersey. They could at least gotten Cris Ron to do it. He is not as ugly as say Park. The Asian market is big but not stupid. Even Boro's jersey looks better than Man U's AIG one. And Boro's is a plain 888.com. Chelsea and Liverpool's are not bad. Arsenal's too.

Liverpool: A great team. Misfiring strikers, small transfer budget yet in he top 3. Unlike Man U or Chelski, they are not in the news for any funny money issues. ( Man U no money, Chelsea too much money). The passion of the team is genuine which is smething i respect as a Chelsea fan. Where else do you see a player who earns like millions from property willing to return to his first club just to wear the jersey? Yeah, Robbie Fowler. He had his 15 minutes of fame in fact more than 15 months of it. Every match he plays he scores, for 4 matches. Its passion. Chelsea lacks this, Man U cant focus enough to achieve this. Liverpool has much home-bonre talent. Gerrard and Carragher never left. Fowler left, became infamous, came back and regain some fame.

Now we go to Tottenham and Arsenal. London rivals, competitors for 4th place etc... First of all, why is Arsenal even fighting for 4th place? It has a world-class squad, on-target strikers, a strong defence. So what is wrong? Simple they dun have an experienced midfiel enforcer which was Vieira. Fabregas can do the task of Vieira but he lacks the experience and aggression. Henry is distracted by his ambition, Sol Campbell by his lost confidence and Ashley Cole by his greed. Toure, Eboue, Senderos and Flamini only recently clicked as a unit. Thats why Arsenal are in the mess they are in now. Perhaps, the time has come to let Walcott replace Henry. Henry and Cole are distracted my greener pastures so they lost their killer instincts.

I dun feel like putting my usual start lines so I'll go straight to the blog.

The EPL has hotted up due to Mourinho's usual stupidity, the poor performances of players who should not have gone to Chelsea and the resulting pressure exerted on themselves. Mourinho is a great manager. He has the best tactics and man managements skills among the EPL managers if not 1 of the best. His weakness lies in the fact that he doesnt understand the English game. Arrogance by the way is typical in the EPL. Fergie and Wenger possessed it.

Chelsea's greatness now is due to the purcheases of Raneiri and Vialli. Both bought the current backbone of Chelsea. Terry, Lampard, Joe Cole, Robben, Cech, Gallas, Makelele, Gudjohnsen and Duff. All these players where there when Mourinho came. What did he buy? Ferreria, Tiago, Carvalho, Kezman, Drogba, Essien, Del Horno, SWP and Diarra. Only Paulo F. and Carvaho are good enough to play for Chelsea. Diarra is still young and so is Essien. Kez and Tiago decided that they should play elsewhere and now are performing above average. That leaves SWP, Drogba and Del Horno. Del Horno is not bad but for the amount paid they probably could have bought a better English player.

The infamous Didier Drogba, costing Abramovic 26million pounds (78 million Sing dollars). For nearly four times less, they could have bought Peter Crouch. With that amount, they could buy Andy Johnson and have some cash left to buy an upcoming English youngster. One would expect a player costing the nett worth of a small company to play like Ronaldo or Eto'o. Alas, he plays like Peter Crouch, gets into the headlines for imitating Cristiano Ronaldo or Van Nistelrroy and says the team has not character. Since he dislikes playing for Chelsea so much, he should go back to France and play there. Maybe with the transfer fee they get from selling him, they can buy a good striker from the D1 clubs. 10 million for a striker who can top the scorers list in the EPL is money well spent. Yes, Andy Johnson comes to mind. If Pool, is gonna get rid of Fowler, Chelsea could sign him. At least, he can score and keeps his head down when trouble comes a knocking.

SWP. A great English player. Pity, he was a great player, last year. This year, he is like Drogba. Diver, Cheater, Flop and Money Wasted. I feel that for the good of England, he should either return to Man City or go to Boro. He is still a fantastic young man and should not waste his future in Chelsea.

Finally, comes Maniche. Not yet a Chelsea player because he is there on loan. If Mourinho thinks he is good, he should think of the Chelsea - West Ham match. Maniche got sent off after Chelsea went 1 goal down. After he left and had his shower, Chelsea scored 2 in 2 minutes thanks to Drogba and Crespo. In simple terms, Maniche is a jinx. he should go back to Portugal where he can be hailed a great player.

One player I have yet to mention: Hernan Jorge Crespo. A great goal poacher much the opposite of Maniche. He leaves the picth and Pool score 3 against Milan. I wouldnt say he is lousy. He has proven to be a great player for a long time. My belief is that he should return to Serie A and end his career there. That would be a fairy tale ending to his career. Chelsea should sell him to get some cash and buy a decent youngster for the future.

An important person Chelsea should now buy is Claudio Raneiri. No, he is too old to play but he has an eye for talent. Make him the transfer consutlant cum chief scout. that would solve Chelsea's transfer problems. Saves money and makes Chelsea a world class team.

Work, Driving and Chelsea.

Mood: Normal
Music: Cao Cao: Lin Jun Jie

Just got a job at NTU for a few weeks while I wait for something more permanent. Very fun. Spent the whole time reading applications of grads and laughing. Helped them to make their applications more easier for the board to read. Not bad. Met a lot of nice people and stuff. I dun mind the 1 hour plus ride to NTU and I really hope it can be more permanent. At least I can ask some
of my friends to meet up for lunch or dinner. Fun place though I guess its fun to work there but not to study or so some of my NTU friends tell me.

Driving. A skill I possess but tomorrow I have to be tested on it. I will pass! I dun care I will pass!! Anyway, if all things go my way, I will pass with flying colours. If not, I will pass with a reasonable margin. its called confidence not arrogance. Hope I will have energy after work! :)

Chelsea, one of the world's best clubs at the present. Despite not having a reputation like Man Utd or Arsenal, it is still a great club to support though they have been sometimes crappy. Jose Mourinho really needs to know what does need not want. So far most of his buys have been crap. Drogba and Tiago are not cheap and they dun play like they are worth half the price.

Ice, Chelsea and Diving

Mood: Unhappy with Mourinho
Music: Nil

I recently went with Alex, Nick and Jervis to watch Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. Excellent movie if you like mindless humour and slightly sadistic antics. Can be confusing at times but it still is watchable. The ending is quite dramatic and very funny. Touching too. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good laugh and a touching storyline.Ellie and Manny are so cute as a couple. Sid is dumb and so is Diego. Scrat is more funny this time around. Kung-fu Rat!

On a less happy note, Chelsea have finally screwed up! Actually they were screwed up the moment to bought Drogba and Wright-Phillips! I dunno what is Mourinho thinking? He buys useless bums and refuses to get cheaper and better players. Chelsea's team is filled with crappy buys from Mourinho's misadventures in the transfer market. Tiago, Kezmen, Drogba, Wright-Phillips and Carvalho. All wastes of money. Drogba should go back to France and handball till he is happy. Thank Lyon and Villareal for removing Tiago and Kezmen respectively. Wright-Phillips should stay in Man City and Carvalho should go back to Portugal. In their place, Chelsea should buy Andy Johnson from Crystal Palace. If they really feel like spending money, they could try buying Gravesen, Cannavaro and Hargreaves. Shows that Roman is not good at chossing good coaches. Mourinho is wasteful and becoming a liability. Time to get a better manager.

The recent focus on diving to get penalties or whatever is partially a dig at Chelsea. Its a pity that the focus on this despicable antic is picked upon only after Chelsea's players are percieved as divers. When Arsenal and Man Utd did it, it was the players fault. When Chelsea's players do it, its the fault of the club. I find that utterly biased! The English FA just cant stand anyone but Man Utd winning the Premiership. Shows that football is biased. English football is Racist not against the Afro players but against foreigners like Mourinho and Wenger. They kicked Eriksson from his job because he is not an Englishman. Sad that such a talented country is so xenophobic. I will admit that the useless bums of Chelsea like Drogba and Wright-Phillips do dive. Robben on the other hand needs a more firm manager to tell him to stop insulting his own talents by diving. Mourinho is ruthless, arrogant but capable. That is why everyone is fearful of him. He needs to tell his players to stop attracting attention to the club by diving. He should of course train them to thrash weak clubs like WBA and Birmingham. Its funny that Chelsea struggles against the last 3 and can beat Liverpool and Tottenham convincingly. Diving must be eradicated! Victimising Chelsea is stupid and smacks of xenophobia. Shame on you!!!! Chelsea wins the Premiership again and the British start to complain of diving. Pathetic really!
