WC, HAPPINESS AND OUTINGS

World Cup

The World Cup has come to the round of 16. More exciting matches, more goals and more late nights watching soccer matches!!!!! Anyway, I makes me happy that Germany, Brazil and Argentina are playing well. I feel that Argentina was a bit floppy against Holland. They should have punished holland and get the full 9 points.

Germany have gone through a massive change since WC2002. Their dependence on Ballack and Kahn has reduced to a point where even without the two greats, they can churn out fantastic results. This is thanks to Jurgen Kilinsman who being one of the greatest players in german history with Franz Beckenbauer now wants to become like Beckenbauer and win the World Cup as a manager. This is the best chance Germany will ever have in the next 12-16 years to win the WC. Outside Europe, Brazil are unstoppable and the Africans are getting stronger as the years go by. Germany will reach the finals barring a serious streak of misfortune hits them.

Brazil has the most talented and experienced team in this year's World Cup. Cafu, Roberto Carlos are veterans of many World Cups. Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in the World Cup tying with Gerd Muller as the top scorer in the World Cup history. The weird thing is Ronaldo is considered fat but yet his Fatness can score when Brazil need the goals. Brazil played a second string defence and paid for it from a Tamada(Chinese readers please say this word with a slight pissed tone :) ) goal. Ronaldo scored the equaliser with his head then scores the finisher.

HAPPINESS

The past few days have been very fun for me. I have been going out with friends, spending time with family etc... Anyway on Thursday, I went out with my pals Alex and Clarence. We had a good dinner at Liang Court at some expensive Japanese resturant. I ate a Beef Sukiyaki which was like eating Yoshinoya with a raw egg and more vege. After that we had cheap Gelato which was good stuff.

Today, I went with my dear mei and her friends to Pasir Ris to cycle. Lets say it was an experience I will not forget. Firstly, we took like 2 hours to arrive at Pasir Ris park. Considering it was 3 pm by then., we had only 2 hours to cycle cool down and then catch the 1730 bus back to Pasir Ris MRT.

Well, the experience of cycling with friends was exhilarating!!!!! I cycled almost 20 km. Anyway, Michelle decided she wanted to be the unique one by rollerblading instead of cycling despite Wan Ting's warnings. True enough, Michelle regretted it.

Actually, it wasnt her fault. The couple in front of her decided to road hog, which was dangerous for them not us. Michelle being the considerate soul tried to avoid them and ended up muddy and slightly injured. the couple was unharmed and oblivious to the pain they caused!!!! Well, two on one!!! I now love cycling mainly because its faster than running and more challenging without the dangers of rollerblading.

WORLD CUP, GAI GAI AND MY LIFE

Mood: Happy
Music: Mei Mei by Guang Liang

World Cup

The past few matches in the WC have been boring! Not that they were boring in the way they were played but borings as in predictable that it becomes pointless to watch or monitor on gamecast.

Germany beat Poland 1-0
Ecuador beat Costa Rica 3-0
England beat T & T 2-0
Sweden beat Paraguay 1-0
Argentina beat Serbia 6-0
Holland beat Cote de Ivorie 2-1
Portugal beat Iran 2-0

So predictable!!!!!

Anyway, now I shall predict the next 2 days' matches' scores.

Japan-Croatia: 1-2, Japan to lead both halves.
Brazil- Australia: 4-0, Brazil to lead both halves
France-South Korea: 2-0, France to lead throughout
Togo-Switzerland: 1-0, Togo to score the winning goal in the second half.
Spain-Tunisa: 5-2. Spain to crush Togo throughout
Saudi Arabia- Ukraine: 0-2, Ukraine to lead the whole match

Outing

Yesterday, I went out with Dominique and her friend. Not much of a outing because she had to rush over to Sentosa. Well, we had Pastamania. My Chicken Pasta was great as was the whole meal. Unfortunately, Domi's Baked Rice looked like Baked Porridge with Cheese. Well, the day was fun because I checked out the stuff i needed to check out and had fun.

My Life Or Lack of It

Well, this weekend has been fun! Went out with friends, went shopping and rested after a crazy week! Unfortunately, every good thing brings its evil twin along for the ride in my life.

In this case, it was my shopping for my dream phone. Well, not quite dream phone. Same company, same features minus GPS, different price and smaller. Yeah, I wanted to buy the HP Ipaq rw6828 from Singtel. The smart alecs forgot to order enough stock and I mean they didnt just run out!!! They were short by almost 20!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! Poor planning!!!!! Now gonna have to wait!!!! #^#%&#^@@&

Life is balanced for now! Lets hope it stays that way if not get better!!!!

ZOO, RESIGNATION AND WORLD CUP

Mood: Bullish
Music: Scum by Maia Lee

Yesterday, I went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens or Zoo. (Why call it a Zoological Gardens? Is it because it is logically a garden?). A bit of a waste of a good 15 bucks. Not because i didnt like to go but because I felt it was the wrong time to go. Mainly because it was raining and because there was renovation in all over.

It rained heavily as soon as i came out of the toilet to start my zoo adventure. That was a dual demoraliser. Firstly, rain itself is very irritating to walk in, you feel wet, uncomfortable and cold. Secondly, the animals tend to hide in their enclosures when it rains so you cant see them.

The lucky thing was the first 2 exhibits were rainforest and amphibious exhibits. The treetop trail and otter exhibits were the first exhibits that me and my entourage visited. I caught sight of a greater mousedeer and a false gharial (which wan ting said was fake!!!!). They loooked so cool!!!!

The otter was skittish and playful despite the weather. Read all the info about otters and their sad plight. Surprising how humans try so hard to distance themselves from animals but in the end fail to escape nature.

the start of the fun only came after wading to the pygmy hippo underwater viewing gallery. I saw many cool fishes like pacu, catfish and gars. I saw a large snapper turtle too!!!!! So cool!!

Anway, i then went to look at the Australian exhibits like the taipan, carpet python, etc... Kangaroos are so boring.... Emus are nice though.

The white tiger was cool! So big and powerful!

In conclusion, the trip to the zoo was fun though i wish it wasnt raining and under renovations.

Resignations

This week one of my fellow CPF staff left the board and two more are leaving within the month. The irony of the situation i that their emplyment was an experiment with freshies. That means those who are like me, fresh jobseekers not those late 20s or 30's. I dun blame them because we are young so studies are more important and trying out jobs is important to find what suits you.

Suitablity for a job is very important. Like I cant sell products for nuts. I feel that if you dun feel suited for the job because of the boss, colleagues or work then it might be a good idea to consider your options. A setback or teething problems is not a good reason to quit.

WORLD CUP

The WC has finally kicked off!!!! The first game was a positive step for football with 6 goals scored!!!!! Unfortunately, the remaining matches since then thee matches have been terrible. Poland lost 2-0 to Ecuador, England only barely beat Paraguay and T&T held Sweden to a goaless draw. World football has deproved or the playing field has been leveled. I think the former. Watching England play Paraguay, I realised that if England play like they did against Germany, they will be beaten. So far only Argentina and Germany have played well though both conceded goals. I would prefer high scoring games to 1-0 games unless it is really high attacking games which england didnt play.

The Week in Review

Mood: Tired
Music: -Nil-

The past week has been tiring. Working till late at CPF Building, going out with frens, learning stuff.... I dun really have time to really rest and recover from the week's exertions.

Anyway, Monday to Friday was work at CPF. We had tons of applications to wade through due to the poor timing of the elections and stuff. Rumours have a poor record of screwing up service standards. Anyway, as of saturday, we have cleared most of the backlog outside service standards. Most of the stuff that is more than 2 weeks old. Those who have applications with RSD, be patient, we will be processing it by this friday.

Despite having such a high pressure enviroment, I still love working at CPF because I have great friends and great supervisors there. The work is fun and makes me feel the happiness missing when i was in the army doing a similar job. Anyway work is getting easier and more fun!

The recent outing with my god sis, Wan Ting, was very fun! Her being very bubbly and cute and me being me, we had lots of fun. This weekend we went to The IT Show @ suntec! BESIDES the cool gadgets and greaZt promos, i met Michelle, Rayson, Eugene and Edmund there. Saw my dream phone and considered the prices. Took lotsa brochures and talked with the staff.

The main point of the outing was WT's teething issues with her new bf. Wont go into details but the guy is new to the dating game. Not that I wasnt when i tried it.

Note: I am not judging anyone. This is my blog so I make observations that maybe true. Comment at the tagboard!

LIVE FOR LOVE UNITED

Mood: Happy
Music: Live For Love United by Pascal Obispo

This a an old World Cup song but it still holds meaning to me. It is about rallying support for people with AIDS. Helping them, cheering tem on, etc... Most important is no matter how famous you are always help others.

Love united we will up
For all the people of the world

Have you ever dreamed of playing for
The biggest team there is on earth
Have you ever played at dreaming large
The time is now and you are the star
The ball is travelling in your direction
Give it all of your attention
Pick it up and pass it on
That's what's gonna make us strong
We will live for love united
We will give for love united
For moments like this
For all those we missed
We will live for love united
Come together undivided
We will stand up
For all the people of the world

Have you ever dreamed of flying high
Looking down from heaven with god's eyes
You know we could use some intervention
Children needing your protection
It's not enough to sing this song
Life the cup and it on
We will live for love united
We will give for love united
For moments like this
For all those we've missed
We will live for love united
Come together undivided
We will stand up
For all the people of the world

I play for love united
Juego para love united
Jag spelar för love united
Ne ngioka love united
Je joue pour love united

We will live for love united
We will give for love united
For moments like this
For all those we missed
We will live for love united
Come together undivided
We will stand up
For all the people of the world

Eu jogo para love united
Je joue pour love united
Ich spiele fur love united
Anka joue pou love united
Anch'io, io gioco per love united
Eu jogo para love united
Se hanna a love united

We will live for love united
We will give for love united
For moments like this
For all those we missed
We will live for love united
Come together undivided
We will stand up
For all the people of the world
