TRANSFERS

Now with the World Cup coming, there will be a whole lot of speculation over those who are going and those who are not. 2 great attackers went to spain this week. 1 is Robert Pires and the other is Fernando Morientes. As expected they outlasted their welcome in England and are now going to Spain to save their careers. Unfortunately, the only significant transfer to date is Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich to Chelsea. Not only is he going to be a flop like SWP but he will be a sap of Chairman Abramovich's oil money. It seems that Chelsea have a artifact hunter of a manager. Buying has-beens, flops and other useless trinkets for huge amounts of money. Though if Roberto Carlos goes to Chelsea, he will be the first good signing by Mourinho. Ferriera and Carvalho are normal signings for a EPL team. Essien is a good prospect for the future as is Diarra.

Man U should sell Tim Howard and Van Nistelrroy. This will help them tide over 1 more season. American Idiot Glazer wants profits not fame. I doubt Man U will be as strong as it is this year. Neville is ageing, Cris Ron is too much flair too little brains, Ferdinand is confused. No Ruud means good bye Man U.

Arsenal will be stronger this year with Henry a permanent fixture in the team
Cambell and Cole will form the defensive backbone unless Cole leaves. Diaby, Toure and Eboue will be better next season. That means Arsenal will be back to challenge the Premiership Trophy. Henry's decision to stay at Arsenal is good for English soccer and for Arsenal though he screwed his future. Joining Barcelona would have made him a better player and win him more trophies. Anyway if Cole and Henry stay, Arsenal will be stronger than this year.'

Chelsea will need to buy some new players to replace Gallas and Drogba. Without the two of them, Chelsea can forget to finish in the top three. My belief is that Chelsea should grab Andy Johnson away from Wigan for 10m and then buy Roberto Carlos and Ashely Cole. Among the other players to sell are SWP, Bridge and Crespo. SWP to some Cahmpionship club to teach him humility, Bridge to Fulham since he likes it there and Crespo to some mid-table Italian club so he cant thwart their European aspirations.

Liverpool need to buy a striker to replace the inept Morientes. Someone who can serve as a foil for Crouch. Maybe buy Ronaldo or Torres. They prob need to sell Cisse. Liverpool have a complete squad now that they prob will be getting Mark Gonzelez. I doubt Liverpool will be in the market to buy much though Dudek might leave.

Man U will need to buy a new striker. They might try to fight with Chelsea and Liverpool for strikers. They need a replacement for Neville and also a holding midfielder. They prob will buy Lyon's Diarra and some other midfielder.

Anyway, next season's EPL will be influenced by the WC. Hopefully not negatively.

fULL-tIME

Barca crushed Arsenal 2-1 as i predicted! This result showed that Lehmann is the reason Arsenal made it to the finals. This is also the last game for Henry as he will be leaving for Barca just as Ashley Cole will be going to Chelsea!

Arsenal's era of greatness is over!!!!!

Chelsea will win all 4 Cups next season!!!!!

Half-Time

Arsenal have scored against Barca despite losing Lehmann. Thats was a soft oal conceded by Valdes though it was a great goal. My feel is that Barca will beat Arsenal 2-1 and Eboue will be sent off. He should he dived to get that free kick. Arsenal are following Juventus and play violent football. They cheated to get that goal so they dun deserve to win!!!!

GO BARCA!!!!!! CRUSH THE ARSEHOLES!

Me, My Life and Eye

Mood: Tyred
Music: Life

There have been some who have been complaining that my blog is becoming like my pal Chris' soccer blog. Well, that true because, what is there in my life worth talking about. Cant talk politics because I am a Singaporean. The word 'Gomez' and 'election' will earn you a visit by the ISD. Cant talk about my love life because I have none. Cant talk about work because its sensitive. So I'll stick to soccer.

Anyway the past 2 weeks have been nuts to say the least. Because I now work at a stat board, the pay is enough to survive and the work is monotonous and a lot. Never in my life have i worked for 12 hours in a day. Well, its my own choice but if i dun stay who will help me complete my work? Ghosts? The security guards? No one! I do this out of duty to the people. Stat boards sole purpose is to serve the people. Sometimes we forget that.

Yesterday was a day played well. I was played as a goalkeeper/sweeper during Kismis Utd's training match and I stopped a few good shots. I also created my team's first goal and scored the equaliser. Man, I have improved a lot since my last game. Either the long layoff is helping me to play better or my self-training has finally paid off. The feeling of scoring and creating goals is fantastic. You stop a shot is 1 thing, scoring is quite another. If you do both, you are a total footballer.

Ciao!

It seems Jose is losing the plot. Not only is he wasting money signing Ballack. He is gonna sell Gallas. He thinks he is still in Portugal where the media has some sense of decorum and morals. Well, he played a second string team and lost to Blackburn. So what if you win the Premiership? Every season you must strive to improve. Crushing everyone is the key. Kill your opponents on the pitch but be a gentleman off it. Jose can do neither. He doesnt finish off his opponents on the pitch. He gives them hope and allows the team to indulge in amateur level football. In a way, he has lost himself in the bright lights of fame. he does things to attract attention. You cant say its entirely his fault, its the fault of Fergie and Wenger. Of Keegan and Graham. They created and encouraged the British media to be bold, rude and voyueristic.

In no other country does the media strive to drag the national team manager through the mud before he even takes reins of the team. McClaren is noble and responsible. Though such traits are linked to stupidity and naivety. He just chose to become Public Enemy Numero Uno. I will miss him and I pity him. He chose to serve a country which chooses to hurt its own interests. The British created soccer but failed to be the best in it. Why is it that Britain is unable to win the World Cup? Simple, all the managers who managed England are more media-savvy than tactics-savvy. Then comes Sven. A great manager who is both greedy and indisciplined. He made England great. They then drag out his entire closet of skeletons and force him to resign. Steve was cheated by the English FA. He exchanged glory for ridicule, fame for infamity and a bright future for one which there is none.

A tribute to Steve McClaren! The man who made Boro great but fell from grace out of a sense of duty! Good Bye!
