It seems Jose is losing the plot. Not only is he wasting money signing Ballack. He is gonna sell Gallas. He thinks he is still in Portugal where the media has some sense of decorum and morals. Well, he played a second string team and lost to Blackburn. So what if you win the Premiership? Every season you must strive to improve. Crushing everyone is the key. Kill your opponents on the pitch but be a gentleman off it. Jose can do neither. He doesnt finish off his opponents on the pitch. He gives them hope and allows the team to indulge in amateur level football. In a way, he has lost himself in the bright lights of fame. he does things to attract attention. You cant say its entirely his fault, its the fault of Fergie and Wenger. Of Keegan and Graham. They created and encouraged the British media to be bold, rude and voyueristic.

In no other country does the media strive to drag the national team manager through the mud before he even takes reins of the team. McClaren is noble and responsible. Though such traits are linked to stupidity and naivety. He just chose to become Public Enemy Numero Uno. I will miss him and I pity him. He chose to serve a country which chooses to hurt its own interests. The British created soccer but failed to be the best in it. Why is it that Britain is unable to win the World Cup? Simple, all the managers who managed England are more media-savvy than tactics-savvy. Then comes Sven. A great manager who is both greedy and indisciplined. He made England great. They then drag out his entire closet of skeletons and force him to resign. Steve was cheated by the English FA. He exchanged glory for ridicule, fame for infamity and a bright future for one which there is none.

A tribute to Steve McClaren! The man who made Boro great but fell from grace out of a sense of duty! Good Bye!
