New Beginnings and New Ends

As of yesterday, Marcus Yeo, a friend of mine, decided to leave this fair country for the greener pastures of Melbourne, Australia. What ever motives, dreams and aspirations he had for this trip across the South China Sea into the Pacific Ocean will hopefully be granted.

Here starts a new beginning for a friend who I felt chose a difficult path but still I wish him all the best. I know deep down inside, I feel much different from how I was expressing myself the day he left this nation.

Bon Voyage/good riddance: two ways of saying good bye to a friend. Both convey meanings of farewell but seemingly opposite connotations. Yet, many a times, we subconsciously/mentally wish both to the same person at the same time.

I am happy that he is able to find a place to chase his dreams even if it took him 3 years to figure it out. 3 years isnt much compared to 30 years or an entire working lifetime. Marcus chose his path, I hope he succeeds and finds a place to pursue his calling in advertising.

Bye Marcus!!! See ya in 1.5 years time!

Small Changes are the best!

Havent been updating the past 1-2 weeks. Nothing much has happened. Went to Uni camp and came back. Learnt a lot about God and am becoming stronger in the faith.

The things that have been bugging me these days has been why 2 brothers, Issac and Ishmael cannot get along. Both have been arguing over the same tract of land for years. The funny thing is it does really matter who occupies the land because they should share this land.

In some ways Ishmael has grown up strong but still he has violent tendencies which make him less attractive than say Peter. Peter is no angel himself, he protects himself by attacking Ishmael and Issac cheers him on.

In many ways, we have become so full of hatred and grudges that we forget that religion is about God and love. Not war and hatred. Sad really..... To see young men and women killing themselves due to the gloating of misguided religious leaders. Suicide isnt gonna make things better for you or your family. Violence begets violence. Compromise begets compromise. When Compromise leads to 'reception of an inch, demand a hectare' mentality, distrust grows. So sad.....

In other news, Man U have been bitten by the 'waste good money on midfielders' bug. The same bug that brought Chelsea low this season has infected Man U. Ironic aint it. Chelsea got 3 freebies and Man U spent more 60 million pounds on 3 midefielders when they should be building up their defence. Fine Giggs is over 30 and Cris Ron is already 22. There is an urgent need to replace them NOW!!!! CRISIS!!! Park Ji Sung, Cris Ron, Giggs, Nani, Anderson. 5 players fighting for 2 places of which 3 will be still around when I get married and have kids. Hargreaves was needed though. I would say if Man U spend anymore money buying players, they would have become Chelsea and Chelsea become Liverpool, etc...

If Man U fans refuse to accept that Fergie was trying to buy success, they would be hypocrites. They have talented youngsters in Ben Foster, Tom Heaton and Mitchell Bryant. Chelsea has its own fair share of youths though I do not see them as good as Man U's for now. So why the urgent need to buy wingers? Cris Ron is still young. Giggs is still strong and PJS is still growing. Injury woes? Really? I assume they have 8 world-class defenders then? I know Chelsea doesnt yet. Lets see.... Vidic, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Heinze, Evra, Brown and Neville. Fine 7 defenders. I guess its true then, Man U needs more wingers!

Thank God Juventus is out of the farce that the Italian Soccer Federation created last season. Back to Serie A and challenging Inter and Milan for what was stolen from Juve. I wonder how much Inter paid to get the title? Oh well, water under the bridge. A new coach in the form of Claudio Ranieri and hopefully a big transfer budget for Ranieri to spend. Its about time Juventus renews the talent in its squad. Nedved and Del Piero are good for now but by WC2010, Juventus will be out of talented left wing players.

Chelsea have gotten 3 new freebies: Alex, Sidwell and Pizarro. A leftback, a midfielder and a striker. Whats missing? Try a centreback and a rightback. I would think since everyone is wild about attacking players, now would be a good time to poach Vincent Kompany and Anthony van den Borre. I think Buying back Huth would be good. Or training Worley and Cork up to the first team. Chelsea are now in planning mode, I hope the Roman and the Special One can plan properly because next season will be harder than this one. Now that Pool and Man U hve money to buy good players, Chelsea has to choose the right players to buy. Maybe express interest in Anelka, Eto'o and others. Just to see if anyone bites.

Okay time to go out!
See Ya!!!!
