WORLD CUP, CHANGING LOCATION AND RANDOM STUFFS

World Cup

The last eight: Germany, Italy, Argentina, England, Brazil, Ukraine, France and Portugal have had their share of luck and skill to get where they are.

The quarterfinal matches: Germany vs Argentina, Italy vs Ukraine, England vs Portugal and Brazil vs France.

Anyway as correct of today, Germany and Italy have beaten their opponents to advance to the next round. It is a pity that it was Germany who met Argentina and not England or Italy. Argentina would have advanced to the last four or at least exposed something for other teams to pounce on.

Thoughts on the Germany match: I felt that Klinsmann has done a miracle for Germany not only are they playing more like a world-class team but they are also not dependant of Ballack to win. The heroes of 2002 were Ballack, Neuville and Kahn. The heroes of 2006 would be Klose. Yes him, Podolski and Lehmann. Lehmann played well during the match to prevent germany for concede any more goals. He also saved 2 penalties to drag Germany through to the semis and 2 more matches. I would say that he was a good choice for a first choice as Kahn lost his magic touch after WC2002. Ballack is a excellent captain for Germany showing the never say die attitude to encourage his team to defend the stalemate despite his injury. I feel his positive attirbutes will not be able to be seen in Chelsea since he plays like Lampard and leads like Terry. Perhaps the only way to fully utilise him is to leave out both which is heresy in my eyes.

The main reasons Germany won were: Ballack would inspired the team throughout the match despite struggling near the end of regulation time; and Argentina's overcautious/arrogant view of the match. Argentina removed their 2 most experienced attackers: Crespo and Riquelme for Julio Cruz (who is he?) and Cambiasso (a defensive midfielder like Makelele and Costinha). This seriously blunted their attack after they conceded Klose's headed goal. After all Riquelme was the one who created their sole goal against the Weirmecht. Crespo distracted the defenders and Ayala had the easy job of getting past Klose to head in the goal. Without Riquelme and Crespo, the Argentine attack lacked imagination and bite. Maxi Rodriguez needed a supporting attacking midfielder which Cambiasso is not. Julio Cruz is not a killer goal machine like Crespo. Franco is no ) Roberto Abbondanzieri Looking at the penalties, Pekerman chose the wrong starting 5 to take the penalties and paid for it. Klinsmann started with Neuville, Ballack, Podolski and Borowski who are all attackers or midfielders. Pekerman started with Julio Cruz, Ayala, Rodriguez and Cambiasso. Ayala scored with his head not feet and is a defender while Tevez was not used yet. Cambiasso scored a easy goal after 24 passes against S&M. Pekerman still had Luis Gonzalez and Tevez so its a bit hard to understand why he put a defender to take the second penalty of such a crucial match. Sorin (or so my bro Jon thinks) would have been are more logical choice.

The Italy-Ukraine match was a joke. Italy have a lot of expereience in the World Cup while Ukraine have none. Ukraine's best player was Shevchenko who plays in Italy and is aging. there was no doubt in my mind that Italy would win.

MOVING OUT, CHANGING ENVIROMENT, SAME WORK

As correct of Tuesday, my working address has changed from PP room to main office. The enviroment in the PP room was more relaxed and we were more efficient there. Well anyplace where the eaverage age is 21 is more fun. Anyway, we were moved over to the main office to make the office look occupied. We carried on doing our own jobs. Hoping for a new surge soon if not, I am gonna be broke. No OT, not much work, etc... I am so poor.....

HAHAHA!!!!
