Feelings and Comments on the Possible Changes in the S league regarding wages.
Funny how all the coaches in the S League are only interested in how the salary caps will affect who they can buy from overseas and not how they intend to use the money given to help the present talents and future talents.
Why is everyone so interested in getting foreigners when the only way we can repeat our Tiger Cup performance is to invest in youngsters? Raddy has already highlighted this problem. We were lucky that Subramani was still willing to play. We need to spend more cash on the local boys, make it more worth the time and effort to train to become an elite footballer. A few talented youngsters are lost every year to Science, the Arts and the military service. Why make us the laughing stock of ASEAN? 4 million people, no war, no economic difficulties and yet cant qualify for the Asian Cup. Paraguay has about the same population and look they are in the World Cup.
Well, i guess Singaporeans are afraid to lose their future but our forefathers took a similar gamble on their future when they came here. Why cant we, the more intelligent ones, do the same? Fear of failure does not equate to not taking risks. We need talent, local talent. No shortcuts. There will no Agu Casmir or Itimi Dickson 10 years from now saving Singapore soccer for humiliation. We need to produce another Fandi if not at least Indra's successor before we start a new cycle again.
